Piotr Lewandowski

Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań

Rev. Dr. Piotr Lewandowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk and holds a degree in theology from the Pontificio Collegio Internazionale Maria Mater Ecclesiae and the Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum in Rome. 

He completed his doctoral studies at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce in Rome, finishing in 2009 with a dissertation titled: La libertà religiosa nei Trattati dell’Unione Europea. Genesi, attualità e prospettive, Roma 2010.

 In 2022, he undertook a three-month research internship at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He is a member of the Association of Polish Canon Lawyers and serves on the Programme Council of the Faculty of Theology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań from 2024 to 2028.Research and development

His research areas focus on the relationship between state and church and on matrimonial law. His interests also include marriage preparation and the role and activities of churches and religious associations in the constitutional and religious law system. He lectures on canon law and the relationship between state, church, and law.
